🌱 Your Own Little Kumara Patch
Kumara plants love warmth, sunshine and well-drained growing conditions. A suitable grow bag can help you create a dedicated growing space on a sunny patio, courtyard or in your garden.
Get your setup right, keep your plants watered, and enjoy watching those vines grow throughout the warmer months.
And the best bit? The kumara are developing out of sight, ready for the big reveal when harvest time arrives!
───
💰 How Much Kumara Could You Grow?
Here's a reason to get excited.
One kumara slip can produce around 1–3kg of kumara in good growing conditions, sometimes even 5kg!
Your actual results will depend on the growing conditions, available space, watering, feeding and length of the growing season.
Even a modest homegrown harvest can make growing your own food feel worthwhile — and delicious!

🌞 How to Grow Kumara in Your KUMARAGROW Kumara Grow Bag
1. Choose a sunny position
Kumara love warmth. Give your grow bag as much sunshine as possible and protect young plants from frost.
2. Fill with a suitable growing mix
Use a quality, free-draining growing mix that gives your plants room to develop. Make sure excess water can drain away.
3. Plant your kumara slips
Plant when conditions are warm enough and the risk of frost has passed. Position the plant in the growing mix according to your growing guide.
4. Water regularly
Grow bags can dry out faster than garden beds, especially in hot weather. Check moisture regularly and water as needed without leaving the roots waterlogged.
5. Feed sensibly
Support your plants through the growing season with appropriate feeding. Our KUMARAFUEL is a handy addition to your kumara-growing toolkit.
6. Give them time
Kumara need a long, warm growing season. When the foliage begins to yellow and die back, it's time to check whether your crop is ready to harvest.
