Offer pellets ad-lib from around 5 days of age to encourage early consumption and support rumen development.
Always provide access to quality roughage such as straw or stalky hay.
As calves develop, gradually reduce milk once they are regularly consuming around 1kg of pellets per day and have access to quality pasture.
Once calves reach approximately 100โ150kg liveweight, gradually wean them off calf pellets while ensuring quality pasture is available.
